Terminology
The following terminology is used throughout Empower Quoting
Additional Costs are costs that are neither labor nor Material costs.
Examples may include the cost of a security fence around the job site, or a subcontractor cost.
Within Empower Quoting, there is no limit on the number or type of Additional Costs.

Each Product has a Budgeted Time that is the time you expect it to be completed in.
For example you may expect that the time to assemble a table is 80 minutes.

Dimensions are a way of customizing your Quotes based on a dimension - for example you may have dimensions of width and length.

An Easy Quote is a Quote that can be quickly created with a Description of the items being quoted. For more complex Quotes with individual cost lines see New Quote.

Materials are used to make Products - examples are steel, wood, screws etc

Material Groups are groups of Materials or types of Materials, eg you may have a Material Group called Steel Plate that includes Materials called Steel Plate 3mm, Steel Plate 5mm etc

Setup Materials
A Process is a manufacturing operation – examples of Processes are cut, assemble, paint, etc. You can have an unlimited number of Processes and name them whatever you wish.

A Process Group is a grouping of Processes. For example you may have a Process Group called Machine Shop. There may be various Processes in that Process Group, e.g. Cut, Edge, Press, etc.

Products are items you manufacture. They can be complete Products or parts of complete Products.

A Product Group is a grouping of Products or types of Products. For example you may have a Product Group called Tables. And you may have a various Products in that Product Group, e.g. board table, kitchen table, etc.

A Quote Template is a predefined format for a Quote. Use of a Quote Templates allow items such as Products, Materials, Additional Costs, markups and the order that these items are to be displayed in a Quote to be quickly retrieved to allow consistent formatting of Quotes.
